In this course, students will discover different careers in the healthcare field. They will identify past and current trends in health care by reviewing the history of medicine. Then, they will explore the different health care pathways and learn about the different possibilities offered by this growing field. They will analyze the skills needed for a healthcare career and consider themselves in one of these roles. Additionally students will learn skills necessary for working with others, communication skills, legal & ethical responsibilities, cultural considerations, problem solving, decision making, accepting personal responsibility and self-management. Students will also be able to become CPR/First Aid/AED certified as part of this course.
