District community partner-Lexikeet is offering an important learning and information webinar! Lexikeet is a district partner and statewide service provider supporting school communities across the commonwealth.

Know-Your Rights is one of the essential resource under the state ProtectAct. 

This is a great opportunity to support non-English-speaking families in our district who may be seeking guidance on immigration matters.  The webinar will help families feel more informed and prepared particularly regarding the following topics:
  • Understanding how federal immigration laws impact families.
  • How the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is supporting immigrant families.
  • Guidance on accessing immigration, family, and probate legal resources.
  • Emergency safety planning for families at risk.

Families will also receive:

  • “Know Your Rights” printable cards.
  • A list of legal resources available in Massachusetts for families affected by detention situations.

Lexikeet Webinar Series

This is a great opportunity to support non-English-speaking families in your district who may be seeking guidance on immigration matters. The webinar will help families feel more informed and prepared for the school year. 

Please help us invite your families to attend the “Know Your Rights” webinar, taking place on Tuesday, September 22, from 6:30 PM to 8:00 PM EDT. There’s no cost to attend.

Representatives from the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Office for Refugees & Immigrants will provide important information about current immigration-related topics and help families better understand their rights and available resources.

Parents will be able to watch the presentation in the following languages, as interpretation services will be provided:

Amharic, Arabic, Burmese, Cape Verdean Creole, Chuukese, Farsi, Filipino, French, Haitian Creole, Jamaican Patois, Korean, Mandarin Chinese, Pashto, Portuguese, Russian, Spanish, Twi, Vietnamese, and Yoruba.

Please note that Lexikeet is still finalizing the translations of the invitation in all languages. If the language you are looking for is not available today, please check back later. Our team is updating the folder as translations are completed.

Topics covered in the webinar will include:
